KX Nilo K Solid Solution Light Rod Process Performance On Kovar Alloy
Product Description and Application
Kovar is also known as Nilo k,Dilver,Pernifer 2918,W.N 1.3981,UNS K94610,FeNi29Co17,29HK (Russian),ASTM F15, 4J29 (China)
Kovar has linear expansion coefficient near borosilicate glass at 20 ~ 450℃ with high Curie point and excellent stability of low temperature arrangement. The oxide film of the alloy is fine and can be well moistened by glass. And not react effectively with mercurynot, which is suitable for use in mercury discharge surface. It is the primary sealing structure data of electric vacuum device. It is used to make Fe-Ni-Co alloy strip, rod, plate and pipe with hard glass or ceramic matching sealing. It is mainly used in vacuum electronics, power electronics and other professional devices.

FAQ:
What material is Kovar?
Iron-Nickel-Cobalt alloy
Kovar is an Iron-Nickel-Cobalt alloy, best known for having a similar coefficient of thermal expansion to Borosilicate glass and other optical materials that allows for glass-to-metal bonds.
Is Kovar hard to machine?
In the annealed condition, Kovar / F-15 Alloy is more difficult to machine because it is soft and gummy. Tooling tends to plow the material instead of cleanly cutting into it, and does not easily form chips.
Can you laser cut Kovar?
The UV laser cuts metals, non-metallic insulating, and other lamination materials. The materials include but are not limited to most stainless steel, copper, brass, Kovar, nickel, aluminum, blue tempered steel, invar, Mylar, Kapton, and Nomex paper.
